Drive and being driven.

After several years of daily routine, car tester Tilman G. certifies excellent qualities of usage to the Volkswagen sedan:

"Especially on long distances this modern limousine is superior to the ones from South Germany. One has to emphasize the good circumspection, the big luggage compartment and the timeless, elegant design."
Shortly after the new interior ("trakehner" velour, from a "GX5" model.) was installed.

The well-being inside the car was increased by the rear middle armrest, the reading lights and the rear headrests. Also, the driver´s seat was made adjustable in height.
It was a pity the garage was reserved for the Polo at that time - so the Santana always had to wait in the street.

The fact that this car had spent its life outside could be seen on the lower doors. There was rust to be seen also on the rear part under the bumpers. Apart from that, no rust was on the wings and around the filler pipe.

"Sand metallic" paint is very condescendent to rusty areas - you really have to watch closely to discover them...
